Have you ever thought about a tree capable of generating clean energy? Panasonic made it and will make its debut in Italy, in Milan. The tree produces energy, conserves it and manages it.
L'solar power it is an invaluable energy source, especially valuable in view of the scarce availability of non-renewable sources. The challenge to be met is to demonstrate that attention to the environment can perfectly be reconciled with sustainable energy development. Energy development becomes an integral part in the design of buildings and urban areas and it does so by exploiting - among other technologies - including Panasonic technology.
For many years, Panasonic has invested resources in researching and developing innovative technologies that can effectively generate, accumulate and use renewable energy in order to reduce the impact on the environment. In line with its goal of becoming a world leader in ecological innovations in the electronics sector, the "Photosynthesis Concept“Proposed by Panasonic.
It is an installation sustainable, designed by the young Japanese architect Akihisa Hirata. It represents a miniature ecosystem: a concept inspired by the photosynthesis of the plant in an ideal symbiotic relationship between technology and nature. An installation of solar panels which reproduces the energy cycle inspired by the process of chlorophyll photosynthesis.
A hi-tech tree capable of creating, storing, saving and managing energy: leaves become solar panels, the fruits become the batteries for the accumulation of clean energy, while the flowers become LEDs and OLEDs. In addition, the individual elements are attached to a transparent support that resembles the branches of a tree.
The purpose is to demonstrate how thesolar power can become one of the cornerstones of this near future: from the creation of energy through i solar panels, to the energy saving thanks to LEDs, up to storage through the latest generation batteries. Each phase of the cycle will be controlled by a centralized management system.
The scenographic installation will be presented at the exhibition "Legacy interior”On the occasion of the 51st Salone del Mobile 2012 to be held in Milan from 17 to 22 April. The structure will be installed at the Pharmacy courtyard of the University of Via Festa del Perdono, 7 in Milan, and will be open to visitors from Monday 16 April, one day before the start of the Kermesse, until the end of the month.
Photosynthesis it is proposed as a tangible imprint in the transition to renewable energies but at the same time it changes some of the axioms followed up to now. No longer large centralized structures for production but a widespread and extended network throughout the territory.
The Salone del Mobile is scheduled from 17 to 22 April.
Installation at Legacy interior however visible from 16 to 28 April.
Times at which it will be possible to see the new installation Panasonic.
